Wesley Almeida
Assistant General Manager, Technology & Digital Experience | Chief Technology Officer
Wesley Almeida is the assistant general manager of Technology & Digital Experience and chief technology officer at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. He leads the technology vision for the world’s busiest airport, including modernizing network infrastructure, accelerating engineering delivery and quality, and shaping the Airport’s approach to future technology implementations.
Almeida has over two decades of experience leading technology teams in defense, transportation and engineering. He served as a lead systems engineer at MITRE Corporation, where he guided complex defense and transportation programs through modernization challenges. In that role, he advanced cloud migration, logistics data strategies and digital engineering, while championing human-centered approaches that improved speed, quality and collaboration across joint services and combatant commands.
Alongside his civilian career, Almeida served for over 20 years in the Army National Guard, retiring as a sergeant first class. His military experience in operations, leadership, and mechanical and electronics maintenance established his reputation as a builder of resilient teams and a pragmatic problem-solver under pressure. For his service, Wesley received the Meritorious Service Medal, one of the military’s highest peacetime awards for outstanding achievement.
Almeida holds a master’s degree in systems engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in information technology with a concentration in software engineering. He is also the co-author of “Learning BPMN 2.0: A Modern Introduction to Process Engineering,” which introduces the foundational concepts of BPMN through both practical and academic examples.
Across every chapter of his career, Almeida has remained rooted in one principle: technology should always serve human needs.
