As Georgia\u2019s economic jewel, ATL generates a more than $66 billion in annual economic impact and provides more than 63,000 jobs on-site, making it the state\u2019s largest employer. A frequent recipient of awards of excellence, Hartsfield-Jackson is recognized for its leadership in concessions, operations, sustainability, architectural engineering, and construction.<\/p>\n

ATL is in the midst of its Centennial year, and travelers are encouraged to take time to join the Airport\u2019s robust celebration marking its connection to the community, the state, and the world. Art displays, stories documenting the Airport\u2019s history, and a look ahead into transportation systems of the future are a few of the highlights planned.<\/p>\n

Hartsfield-Jackson continues its 100-year tradition of being a global gateway. With 80 percent of the U.S. population a mere two-hour flight away, it offers nonstop service to more than 160 domestic and 80 international destinations. These locales include major commercial centers in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Africa, and South and Central America. ATL also holds the distinction of being the first airport in the world to serve more than 100 million passengers in a single year.<\/p>\n

In many ways, ATL is more than an airport. It\u2019s also a destination. Its award-winning concessions program, ATL Skypointe, features more than 300 commercial venues meeting guests\u2019 dining, shopping and service needs. And the ATL Airport Art program integrates permanent and rotating exhibits and musical performances into the fabric of the guest experience.<\/p>\n

To prepare for continuing passenger growth, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport launched ATLNext in 2016. This multibillion-dollar comprehensive modernization and expansion initiative is designed to enhance passenger experience, increase capacity, and maintain its status as the world\u2019s busiest airport. The program encompasses a series of projects to transform both the landside and airside facilities to accommodate future growth and evolving travel needs.\u200b<\/p>\n
