Augustus \u201cGus\u201d Hudson is the assistant general manager of Emergency Management at Hartsfield-Jackson. In addition to emergency management, areas of authority include administration and business, operations, security, maintenance and engineering. He has been in the emergency management and aviation security industry for over 29 years.<\/p>\n

Mr. Hudson\u2019s career began in the U.S. Air Force, where his passion for aviation developed. He joined Hartsfield-Jackson in 2005 to serve as a security manager. He rose through the ranks to director of emergency management, offering strategic direction for the Airport Operations Center and the Emergency Operations Center. Mr. Hudson was responsible for ATL\u2019s emergency management program, including planning, training, testing and coordinating emergency response operations. In 2007, he accepted a position to lead a project that would bring integrated daily operations and emergency operations under one roof: the Centralized Command and Control Center, also known as C4.<\/p>\n

Before arriving at ATL, Hudson served in communications and security roles at Memphis International Airport (MEM), coordinating with law enforcement and federal agencies in writing and enforcing security policy and procedures.<\/p>\n

Through the years, he has served on 12 Airport Cooperative Research Program projects project panels and served on committees for the American Association of Airport Executives and the International Association of Emergency Management committees. The Memphis native has quickly become a subject matter expert in airport emergency management.<\/p>\n

Mr. Hudson holds a Master of Science degree in information systems from Nova Southeastern University and professional certifications from AAE, ACI, PMI, and FEMA. He is currently pursuing a dual Master of Science in security and disaster management and is also a doctoral candidate at Nova Southeastern University.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
